The barrel of the machine gun rotates horizontally and vertically. The belt is created using satin fabric ribbon to keep it flexible.
The shield is removable. The machine gun is sold assembled with the shield removed.

The Maxim gun is a machine gun designed by the American-born British gunsmith Hiram Stevens Maxim in 1883. The Maxim gun was one of the ancestors of automatic weapons; it was widely used in the colonial wars, the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902, World War I and World War II, as well as in many small wars and armed conflicts of the 20th century.
